What is MyView? Honest Review on MyView
What is MyView? It is a reputable survey panel that has been around for many years. Do you want to know if you can make money online via this company? Read my honest review on MyView and find out if it is legit or a scam.
What is MyView?
Overall Rank: 35 out of 100
Reward: Amazon gift cards, e-voucher ($15 minimum)
Processing Time: approximately four weeks (or more) to redeem points
What is MyView? MyView is operated by Critical Mix (formally known as Authentic Response) and it is based out of New York. Critical Mix is a research marketing company that has been around since 1996.
MyView was created in 2008 with the primary objective of collecting feedback and opinion from the targeted group of people.
It is a legitimate survey panel that rewards their members for spending time on answering and giving opinions on surveys. MyView rewards respondents in the forms of gift cards (e.g. Amazon, CVS, Best Buy, Old Navy).
As a member of MyView, you will be invited to give your opinions on a variety of products or services, such as movie trailers, gadget items, and video games.
In term of their business model, MyView is quite similar to Opinion Outpost that I have reviewed previously. There is nothing special about this survey panel. In general, MyView has almost all standard survey panel features.
If you are wondering if MyView is a scam, don’t worry as it is a legitimate survey site. MyView also has a security certification from TrustE which indicates the site is legit and trustworthy.
One thing is worth mentioning about MyView is they have been rated F by the Better Business Bureau (BBB). This is caused by the fact that they had not attended to many complaints that had been raised by the consumers in the past.
How To Make Money With Only MyView?
It is pretty easy and straightforward to sign up as a member of MyView. Simply go to the official sign up page (see snapshot below) and fill up the form. Remember to choose the right country as you sign up.
You are eligible to earn money with MyView if you are above 13-year-old.
For the time you have spent taking the surveys, you will be rewarded through MyView Points that are redeemable via PayPal, charity donations, Prepaid Visa Cards, iTunes, Sears, and gift cards.
For each survey, you will be notified the average time that you need to spend to complete the survey. Once you finish the survey, the MyViewPoints will be credited to the Balance History page on the portal.
What I like about MyView Points is that you will also be rewarded partially if you cannot finish the entire survey.
The MyView Points you accumulate for completing a survey will be credited almost immediately to your account once the survey is closed.
In order to cash out, you will have to make sure that it is sufficient to cash out $15 (approximately 20,000 points).
One of the tricks to get more survey invites from MyView is to start doing the invited surveys as soon as you can. If you register and do not participate in their invited surveys, they stop sending you the new ones.
Why MyView Makes Sense?
(+) You will be rewarded (partially) even if you do not complete the surveys.
(+) You will get “Just for Trying” points whenever you are disqualified from taking the invited surveys. This shows the legitimacy of the company and their sincerity in appreciating your time spent.
(+) Relatively low cash out threshold, $15. Unlike Only Cash Surveys, their cash out is set at $50. If you have been taking surveys, $50 takes a long time to accumulate.
(+) MyView pays promptly and they have a very good reputation for being a prompt paymaster. Once you redeem your points, MyView issues the e-voucher code almost immediately.
(+) MyView sends a lot of survey invites as compared to many other survey panels in the market.
(+) MyView has done a very good job in giving customer support. If you visit their “Customer Feedback” page, you will see all forms of feedback from members are disclosed to the public.
There Must be Some Negative Sides of MyView
(-) The biggest drawback is they do not pay out “real” cash. You only can redeem points for gift cards and e-vouchers.
(-) MyView Points will be forfeited following 90 days of account inactivity.
(-) It takes long to have MyView Points be credited for the survey you completed. After completing the survey, you may need to wait for a month or two to get the points credited. You will be provided a confirmation code after every survey. You are reminded to keep the code as it will be used to confirm if payment for that particular survey has been made.
(-) The MyView Point system is confusing. It is not a problem to only MyView but to any survey panels that use Point system. As I mentioned above, you require approximately 20,000 points to redeem a $15 e-voucher. This is because I cannot pinpoint exactly the conversion rate. Sometimes, I need 33,000 to redeem a $25 Amazon Gift Card.
To be honest, this is the shortest survey panel review I have ever made because it is nothing special about this product.
It is just not worth spending your time taking surveys with MyView if your intention is to make money online. Even if they payouts real cash to their members, it takes way too long to process the reward redemption.
