How to Make Money Online in Autopilot Mode?
There are a few thousands of blogs being published within a minute. There are more than three billion internet users at the time of writing. The internet is not just known for the speed of information, but also for the speed at which it can earn you a lucrative income.
I have reviewed a lot of online opportunities where you can make some money such as survey panels, high yield investment scheme (not recommended) and affiliate marketing. However, there is only one I consider the best way to make money long term – affiliate marketing.
I believe some of you have found some useful products that potentially can earn you some good money. Perhaps, most of you end up jumping from one product to the next, looking for the “secret” of why everyone else is making money but you.
In this post, I am going give you an honest recommendation and a legitimate way to make money online that could actually provide you with income for many years in the future.
I do not believe in easy money and there are no magical tips in this article that will help you get rich overnight. So if you are after easy money then this article is not for you.
Affiliate Niche Websites
Building small websites on specific topics then growing them to “authority sites” is by far my preferred way to make a fortune online.
Historically proven that it is not only my preference but many other successful bloggers on the market. Making money via affiliate marketing has been the most shared topic on the internet. However, not all of them are legitimate and real.
The method I’m gonna share requires a bit of basic skills of monitoring traffic, English writing skills and a bit of patience too.
It is also noted that you can generate $1,000 a day or $10 per day with the method I share. If you work smart, then you’ll profit for sure. So read it carefully.
Step 1 – Own a Blog and Write
First of all, you’ll need a blog. Many of us have our own blogs. If you have not gotten one for your own. You can build one for free using SiteRubix and write unique articles to generate traffic.
If you already have it. You need a little 100 daily visitors to your blog. Reaching 100 visitors daily isn’t much hard for any of you.
For those who has no experience in blogging, you need to choose a topic you’re interested in. Something that can be your hobby or you are passionate about. Be sure to get something that you can write about…a lot. For example
- Virtual reality (the hottest tech trend at the time of writing)
- computer gaming headsets
- herb gardens
- DIY home remedies
- paleo diet
- backpacking and traveling
- educational smartphone applications
- ….and so many more!
Some people have extra budgets as a start up. They pay people to write as they have difficulty to find time. As for me, I started with spending two to three hours per day to write. As the website gains authority, I spend one hour per day publishing three posts per week.
Step 2 – Publishing Your New Posts
I installed a WordPress plugin called WP Editorial Calender. This plugin allows you to schedule your blog posts in the calendar and publish them at those set times.
By doing this we can see which posts will go live and when these posts. I use this because reader engagement is important. Once your readers know your publish frequency, they will come back again and again. If there is an interesting post, they share on social media. That’s how you get traffic to your blog.
Step 3 – Monetization Your Blog
At the beginning when I started my site, I knew that one thing that stressed me out and took up time was monetizing the site. I always thought I need to own a product before advertising them on my site. I thought I needed to find an advertiser. In fact, affiliate marketing doesn’t require you to produce your own product.
Your blog site shall be used as an advertising platform for many affiliate marketing programs out there on the market. For example, Amazon, ShareASale, Apple and much more.
When you join an affiliate program and choose the products that you want to sell, sellers provide you with a unique affiliate code that you can use to refer traffic to the target site. Most affiliate programs will offer ready-made text links, banners and other forms of creative copies whereby you only have to copy the code and place it on your website to start referring traffic.
When interested visitors click on these links from your site they get redirected to the product site and if they purchase a product or subscribe to a service you as the referrer make a commission.
I do promote a product – Wealthy Affiliate. It is an affiliate marketing training program where it teaches me how to make a lucrative income online. Every month, WA sends me a nice sum of money that allows me to quit my 9-to-5 job.
You could argue that an affiliate product could out perform an advertiser, this is true. But often, it’s not. Who knows? Who cares? It’s more important to me to diversify my income so I’m not reliant on one income stream.
You can only promote an affiliate product so many times before it becomes irrelevant for a lot of readers. A great way to make adverts more relevant to readers and more successful for advertisers is by rotating 2 adverts with 2 different landing pages. This way your advertiser gets a much higher click through rate.
There are a few things you have to be mentally prepared when you make money online. When you are building your website, it’s very easy to get stuck in the JOB mentality of “when I do work, I want to get paid”. It can be discouraging to work 6 hours on an article, then not see money coming in. After a few weeks or months of it not making money, it feels even worse, like you wasted your time.
A few affiliate marketers who followed my email course came back and dropped me the same feedback saying that their blogs are not working and not making any money. I’m no stranger to those feelings. I had the same experience when I first started.
But when you are working online building niche websites that rely on organic traffic from search engines there is a delay between when you complete the work and when you see results.
I worked alongside with a person who actually stopped working on his website for a while, and was surprised to come back later to discover some Amazon earnings! It is normal. I have heard about this many times.
That is why sometimes it’s OK to take a break from your website when you get frustrated and spend some time working on other projects.
Your work doesn’t disappear. It stews in Google, and if you did good work, it settles down in a nice ranking where it can get traffic. Do that 100 times, and now you have 100 little traffic points settling down in Google over a period of time that will accumulate more and more traffic.
To make a fortune via affiliate marketing, you need to change your mindset and remember you are running a real online business. A brand new restaurant needs some time to gain its customers’ trust too.
