Swagbucks is based on LA and it works like Zoombucks. It is an online loyalty program that you get paid for searching the Internet. Rewards are granted every time you search for anything via Swagbucks. There is a Wikipedia site about Swagbucks. It rewards its members as swag buck where it is running on virtual currency system. One Swagbucks is approximately 1 cent.
Upon accumulating a certain amount of points, you could convert them to real rewards. You can earn from one to a thousand points. Of course, if you want to earn near to the higher end of the spectrum, you will have to work very hard and spend a significant amount of time to earn your reward.
Is Swagbucks Legitimate?
At the time of writing, there are already more than four million members registered with Swagbucks. It has been considered as one the of the fastest growing online reward programs in the market. Furthermore, it is one of the top 10 Internet companies. From these track records, I can assure you that Swagbucks is definitely not a Scam. Swagbucks is Legitimate.
Why Swagbucks Makes Sense
(+) It is a straightforward and easy-to-understand system. Anyone can participate in their program and all you need to do is to do some searching on the Internet. Even if you do not do much on a certain day, you could easily earn seven to ten Swagbucks a day. It is fairly easy to earn 500 points in four to six weeks. With that, you could convert the points for a $5 Amazon gift card.
(+) We all do a lot of searching online every day. It is a good opportunity to earn some side income. Once you are signed up as a Swagbucks member, all you need to do is to make sure that you stay signed in so you could use Swagbucks to do online searching and earn points. It is easy! Isn’t it? What you could do is to set Swagbucks as your default search engine on your browser.
(+) Other than earning points from searching. You could also watch some programs via Swagbucks to earn points. If you like to cook, you could watch some cooking programs like Food Network videos on Swagbucks. It also offers some movie trailers, celebrity gossips and a lot more.
(+) Referral program. Similarly to Zoombucks, it offers a referral program that encourage you to recruit more members using your referral link. Upon signing up, you will be earning 10% (10SBs) of their joining point (100SBs). It is not only limited to sign ups only. Whenever your referrals earn some points, you will also be rewarded 10% of their earning throughout their lifetime!
(+) You can cash out $5 (approximately 450 Swagbucks) to earn the Amazon gift cards or $25 to your Paypal with Swagbucks of 25,000 points. The cash out threshold is really low and reasonable.
(+) It is good to know that Swagbucks have a mobile App, in which it has almost exactly the same features as the desktop website. That simply means you could earn points while you are traveling on the bus or waiting for someone at the restaurant. You can have Swagbucks on the go!
(+) If you are serious about Swagbucks, you could also consider doubling your Swagbucks by signing up their Accelerator programs. The advanced plan is as shown below.
There Must be Some Negative Sides of Swagbucks
(-) The search engine is not as good as Google. Apparently, they use Bing’s search results.
(-) It is time-consuming to earn a few points that can be converted to a $10 Amazon gift card. To me, it is a negative thing as I rather invest my time on starting a new website and earn passive income from there. Some people use Swagbucks as their search engine when necessary, play some funny games and watching some cooking programs and earn them some free Amazon gift card. If you are looking for pocket money, Swagbucks is definitely for you.
(-) At the time of writing, Swagbucks is only available in the US, UK, Ireland, Canada and Australia. It is geographically restricted.
Making money via Swagbucks can be fun. However, earning rewards is a slow process unless you are looking for some part time income that earns you some gift cards and pocket money. To earn up to thousand points, you will be required to spend most of your time on the screen and do a lot of clicking. My advice is, Don’t expect big income working with Swagbucks, it will not make you rich.
Let’s examine an example here. Let’s assume I receive an invitation to a 10-minute online survey to earn Swagbucks. The reward is 10 Swagbucks. That simply means I will be approximately 60 cents per hour if I get an hour online surveys. Do you think it is worth spending one hour to earn 60 cents? To me, it is not worth it.
