Beauty Counter Review – Is Beauty Counter a Scam?

What is Beautycounter?

Beauty Corners is a company that sells cosmetics and other personal care products.  Their headquarters is based in Santa Monica, California.  According to the company, the company uses no harmful chemicals in their products.

Beauty Corner also adapts the MLM Business Model that most individuals like women are enticed to join the network.  This model is one of the effective ways to draw clients and try the products.  Are they satisfied with the products?  You will find out as you read more about the company in the Beautycounter reviews.

When we talk about MLM, the recruits are being sponsored by the members and signs-up as distributors.  Both the sponsors and the members will have a share of the entire sales of the network.  While the income is quite promising, most of the members are not earning that much.

The company, on the other hand, offers a diverse line of products.  From makeups and personal hygiene, this can be a supposed good opportunity for the members to earn.

Beautycounter is not just another makeup company.  According to its founder, Gregg Renfrew, his advocacy is to protect the skin from harmful ingredients.  It was founded in 2013 but it was only in 2016 when they started selling the products.

Beautycounter Reviews-Can You Really Make Money in this Company?

According to Beautycounter Reviews, the company is legitimate and registered.  With the wide variety of beauty and personal care, then it should have been an advantage for the consultants.  Consultants are encouraged to build their own network to increase the sales however they need to hit the target.

They must reach their quota before they can get their commission.  If they cannot reach their quota then there will be nothing to earn.  We can say that it is not just simply recruiting; you also need to sell in order to earn.

To tell you frankly, one cannot say that they cannot really earn from MLM.  Of course, you can actually earn but the question is, is it really enough.  If you rank well within the entire network and become an elite member then you will have a decent income.

But what about the downlines, they can hardly earn enough income.  They need to work very hard to earn their keep.  Unfortunately, not everyone who joins their network can become part of the elite team.

I am not saying that Beautycounter is not giving the income as promised because compensation was discussed among members.  It can never be the main source of your income, yet a secondary source will do.  But, as you can see, there are many ways to earn a lucrative income than this.

The Commissions from the Beautycounter

Once you sign-up, you are entitled to a 25 percent commission from the suggested retail price of all their products.  This is the Retail commission one can get from directly selling the product.  You will be given personal websites where you can advertise.  Whether you sell online or sales done from person to person, you will get a retail commission.

The good thing about Beautycounter is you do not really have to worry about the inventory.  They will handle the products and deliver them to the clients.  So, you can actually focus on advertising your website and hopefully sell online.

All your personal sales will give you the opportunity to earn points.  You need to keep buying the product each month to reach the required points.  If you do not reach the target, then the opportunity to get your share from the sales you made will not be given.  We can say that the Personal Sales Bonus can only be earned if you reach the required points.

Overriding Commission Explained

Override Commission is derived from your team.  Once you become a sponsor and build your network, you will have downlines who also patronize the product.  The commission you will get from the network you build depends on your ranking.

There is an override commission and it will depend on how much points your downline earned.  You must also reach the target points to qualify in the distribution of this commission.

If a new consultant sign-up under your name, you can earn an override commission when they place their order.  As you go up the ladder and rank well, you earn more commissions.

If you become a Director, you will get a Director Generation Overrides but what if your downline becomes a director?  You will now receive a flat rate as your downline receives the “generation” commission.

You can become a member by signing up.  There is a one-time fee of $29 as a bond fee.  You can also enjoy Beautycounter free shipping for orders that reach $100.

To be able to become a consultant, you need to pay $90 as an investment.  You will receive training materials, back office, some marketing paraphernalia and your very own website.  The website must be maintained in order to sell online.

There is an annual renewal of $50 for your business.  Each year, you will have to pay the $50 in order to retain your status as a consultant.  That will also serve as payment for the website that contains the tracking of your business.

Product Lines

Skin Care Products ofBeautycounter includes moisturizers, sunscreens, exfoliants and makeup removers.  There are also other items being sold such as lip conditioners, facial masks and mist.  The price ranges from $17 to over a hundred dollars.  They offer a complete regiment for skincare.

Makeup lines include eyeshadows, blushes, lipsticks and bronzers.  You can choose among the makeup kits that the company offers such as different brushes for the right makeup.  You can also find foundations, powders and concealers in this product line.

Bath and Body Categories include sunscreens, lotions, body washes and hand creams.  They also have body balms, scrubs and butters to complete everyday bath regiment.  Price ranges from $15 to more than a hundred.

Beautycounter does not only cater to women.  They also have products for men.  The Counterman offers exfoliating cleansers, lotions, toners and shaving creams.  According to the company, these products are formulated for men.  The price ranges from $16 to $30.

The Quality of the Product They Offer

Renfrew, the founder of Beautycounter aims to produce a safe product for everyone.  According to him, the CEO of the company, they only use ingredients that are safe to the skin.

Their website states that they only use chemicals that are non-toxic and provided list ingredients used in their products.  Although it is good that they have come up with the list, it also stirs controversy.

There are some questionable ingredients found in the list which were restricted in other countries.  Therefore, is it still safe for consumers to use their products?

Some of these ingredients that are in the list are benzalkonium chloride, butylated hydroxyanisole (BHA) and butylated hydroxytoluene (BHT).  In addition to that, EDTA, formaldehyde, and hydroquinone were also on the list.

Despite there are consumers who are satisfied with using the product line, can they really assure other customers its safety?  Makeup and Skin Care products have been an essential part of our everyday life.  But still, there must be an assurance that there are no ingredients can harm us.

Is Beautycounter a Scam?

Again, one can really earn from Beautycounter.  There is no doubt that you can really generate income from it.  The main concern is the amount of income that one can receive.  I understand that the earnings will be dependent on rank but the downlines should also be compensated well.

Another thing, if you buy makeup this month, it can last for 3 months or so.  Therefore, you do not really have to buy beauty products on a monthly basis.  How many points do you need to earn in order to get your commission?  You need to buy a lot.

Perhaps the excess products you buy for each month to reach points can be sold to your customers.  It cannot be sold to your downlines since they also have to reach points and basically get the same number of products each month.

If you are to analyze the situation, the entire network is buying the products.  The amount earned from these will be distributed among members at the end of each month.  Practically speaking, the products that you bought from the company are not necessary.  In fact, you just need to get those products to be able to earn the profit.

It is just like you are forced to buy something that you do not really need.  What will you do then to the products you bought?  There will come a time that you will stop buying these products and you lose your consultancy status.

Can You Make Money with MLM?

Can you really make the big money? The short answer is yes. However, most people don't.

Anybody can become an MLM consultant and start selling regardless of whether or not they have sales experience. As long as you can afford the starter kit — which typically cost $50 to $200 - you own a business.

However, according to an article on direct sales, the median income for an MLM rep is about $2,400 per year.

The statistic has also shown that the loss rate for all these MLMs ranged from 99.05% to 99.99%, with an average of 99.71% of participants losing money in an MLM.

Many people who are trying to recruit you tend to advertise a glamorous life full of flexibility, passive income, fire your own boss and be your own boss. What they don’t say is that the chances of making a six-figure salary or even a full-time income at all are extremely low.

MLM Vs Affiliate Marketing

As you can see, I wouldn't recommend network marketing/MLM because it's a lot harder to get the results you want and achieve success as compared to affiliate marketing.

Let me give you a quick comparison between MLM & affiliate marketing:

Recommendations and Verdict

We all need to be beautiful but we never want to risk our health.  The aim of the company is quite good.  They really wanted to promote safety among their members.  They want to keep away from harmful ingredients.

Do they really fulfill what they promise?  The quality of the products that they are selling is quite good, according to some users.  But the safety is questionable as the list of ingredients does not match other countries' list.  So as a consumer, I do not want to take the risk.

Another thing that I do not want in the system is the earning of points to qualify for the commission.  Most of us are looking for passive income and having to buy the product each month is not part of it.  We are just making the company earn from us so they can distribute it among members.

I will not buy things that are not needed in my household.  You need to be practical.  If I am forced to buy something just to earn my keep, then it will not earn my recommendations.

We all wanted a decent income.  Whether you are in the elite member of the network, we must always take care of our downlines.  If they are not earning and we are earning from them, do you feel guilty about it?

When you invite friends to a new and exciting opportunity, then you assure them of the same earnings as you do.  Finally, I would rather look for other ways to make a lucrative and decent income that join in this MLM Company. May this Beautycounter Review guide you to find a more profitable ways to make money online.
